Pet Pals Wooden 5 Level Cat Scratcher Reviews

5 Rating 2 Reviews
Love this cat climber as it looks much nicer as a piece of furniture compared to others. My cat fell from the top bed as the bed moved and he actually broke his hip (not the climbers fault). To rectify this, I sewed some velcro to each corner of the bed and tied it around the dowel so the bed is now secure. As with another comment about the bed platform, ours too was leaning and looked like it wouldn't last, so we cable-tied it to the scratching post next to it. This has made it secure. My cat doesn't use the box part, he just likes the two bed platforms. I've had it for 3 years now and it still looks in great condition. It would be great if you could replace the scratching posts once worn (order from the manufacturer perhaps) instead of needing to redo the sissal rope. I strongly recommend it - just cable-tie and secure top bed first.

I felt compelled to write this review as I was nearly put off buying this tree due to the bad review (and no other reviews so far). It did seem expensive, but its incredibly well-made and looks good - much nicer than the carpet-covered trees. Our 2 cats were hesitant at first just because it was new, but now they love the tree and they use every single level and scratch post. (Even our more ground-dwelling cat who usually prefers flat cardboard scratchers has been using the posts.) They alternate between using each bed “ including the one on the top, which they have absolutely no trouble getting up to, even though theyre both more mature cats. I guess every cat is different, but I think most cats would have no issues using this tree. The only minor observation is that the plush bed sitting on the one offset post looks like it could possibly eventually come loose. It sits a bit askew when our 5kg cat sleeps on it, so we might drill a hole in the middle of the bed to centre it instead. Absolutely recommend. Our cats love it - and so do we!
