“I don't know how long does ties last... used them for old garden hose rug (recycle)”

“I have oblong chair legs. The snug zip ties will hold the chair socks at the narrow top of the short oblong lower leg area. When the chair socks wear out on their floor contact area I will need to cut the ties to remove them.”
