“This is a GREAT shower head. The flow is PERFECT. Not too soft not too hard - PERFECT! The smaller setting is great for rinsing my hair. I had a plumber do the installation so I don't know about ease of installation but he didn't have any problems.”
“I thought I had low water pressure until I tried this thing... I strongly recommend you take a shower with it before removing the flow restrictor to see if it's good as-is. I removed mine from the start and the low setting is stronger than any massage setting I've experienced and the high setting can exfoliate and take callouses off.I like to alternate between hot and cold water in the shower for that deep breathing you get when you get hit by a wave of cold water. This showerhead is absolutely fantastic when it comes to switching up the temperatures. It will go from hot to cold and back to hot almost as fast as you can adjust the valves.11/10 would definitely buy it again!”
“When my spouse requested we upgrade the showerhead from the perfectly good existing Niagara 1.5gpm low flow head that we've had since the home energy audit people gave it to us, I looked online at the reviews. That famous consumer reporting magazine we all know rated this Moen Velocity unit as the best they'd reviewed. I ordered it from plumbingsupplyandmore and was very happy to get a refurb unit at an excellent price -- this is a very very expensive unit new. It's made in China regardless of cost, but at least is heavy duty stainless steel or similar metal throughout - not plasti-chrome.Once installed, this is a nice unit and the spouse and I are 4 out of 5 stars pleased with the pressure, functionality and overall use. it goes between a central core high pressure setting and a full nozzle lesser pressure "rain" setting. We have ours installed like a regular shower head, but you could also install it above you as a straight-down showerhead - it might be even better. If it were just me, I would have been equally as happy with the Niagara-type $5 low flow, as I think that unit produces a great shower, but this looks better and the spouse is happy...The Tip: The unit didn't come with a washer and has a strange wide area that doesn't easily take a washer. I thought this was just my refurb. unit, but it appears the new units don't ship with a washer either. If they did, it would be a strangely shaped thing, since the last couple MM of the unit's pipe are as wide as a a garden hose. Anyway, I visited plumbing stores and Moen retailers and Moen was even nice enough to send a (regular) washer - none of which fit or worked. If you use a regular head washer, it will move around and not seat correctly - and leak. If you use no washer without teflon tape or with just a turn or two of plumbers tape, it will leak. In the end it was my friend, a plumber, who suggested just wrapping the pipe you attach this head onto with ample (3 full turns or a bit more) of plumber's teflon white tape. I did that and it works well without leaking. So, you can run this thing with a lot of plumber's tape on the threads with no washer! I learned something..”
“I recently was on a two-week trip in Iceland, where the showers are amazing. Most of the hotels I stayed at had a rainfall shower head with the most immense pressure that you can imagine- truly like standing under a waterfall. I wanted to recreate the experience at home, and so once back in the States I immediately began my search and came across the Moen Velocity. I ordered one for my main floor bathroom as a test, and once installed I immediately ordered a second for my other bathroom. The price is steep, but being able to pretend I'm in Iceland each day is worth it (tip: take out the flow regulator).”
“After reading reviews I took out the flow restricter which was only an "O" ring but now I wonder if I should have as I have oodles of water with it out and I have to slow the flow with the regular shower controls. It is a very nice shower head and I would recommend it.”
