Liberty Jet water Powered Sump Pump Back Up Emergency System Reviews

4.6 Rating 351 Reviews
I bought this pump to replace another water powered pump that I had, but I haven't had a chance to evaluate the pump until today because we had a huge storm and the float switch on my primary pump decided to get sticky. Compared with the old pump, well, there is no comparison. The pump is unbelievably efficient and only has to run for a few seconds to pump the water out. My old pump could barely be called a pump and the valve constantly leaked due to poor quality. The Liberty pump is so much more solidly built. I love that now I have total piece of mind and that I don't have to worry about power failures or replacing expensive batteries. I will say that the pump is on the large side and kind of awkwardly shaped so it was a bit of a challenge to get it to fit in my sump pit. Aside from fitting it in there, the installation is straightforward and easy. I'd highly recommend this product, but if you're not fairly handy you may want to consider having it professionally installed.

This system is a much better hydro backup system than the previous one I had. I can finally go on vacation and not worry about losing power.

I installed this in a property w/ a history of flooding, which did just that when Tropical Storm Isaias came through, and knocked out the power for over 24 hours. A tornado sparked by Isaias caused significant damage to structures / trees making it almost impossible to quickly get to the property and remedy things. I already had a basement drainage system installed several years ago which prevents flooding when there is AC power present. The sump pip is probably 3' deep so this allowed this to easily go above the AC powered sump so this only triggers if something has gone wrong. I installed check valves on both sump pump discharges and a Watts dual check valve backflow preventer on the water supply to this pump. When done we unplugged AC powered sump and filled up the pit to test this. I was impressed how quickly this lowered water in the pit w/ roughly 9' of head. I am confident that this will prevent another flood if power goes out in the future. The pump seems to be a quality product at a very reasonable price point. I considered battery backup dc powered sump and inverter backup but I don't like to depend on batteries. What happens when the batteries drain or don't work because of poor preventive maintenance? And I like the cost point of this product versus the other options. Great product / price....
