“I installed one of these for a customer and it is an excellent thermostat. Especially when multiple heat sources are needed. Installation and programming are very easy and the menu is intuitive for new users. However, there are a few flaws. There is no battery backup so when power is lost, the time is not kept and it throws off the programmed schedule. Also, when a temp hold is in place (the user raises or lowers the setting from the currently scheduled temp) the clock is no longer displayed. The only way to know what time the thermostat thinks it is is to cancel the temp hold and then reset the hold”
“I like the abundance of settings in his stat but there is something it is doing that I cannot figure out. I have a heat pump with gas backup heat. I am trying to keep the gas heat from running when the temperature outside is above say 40 degrees. I am using the Internet temp vs a sensor. So, I set the OA heat lockout to 40, the heat droop to 2 and the upstage heat time to 30 minutes. So If I understand this the gas backup heat would be locked out UNLESS the room temp is at least 2 deg from setpoint or the room has not reached setpoint by the time set in the upstate timer. But that is not what is happening. It would never bring on the gas heat even though the room temp was 70 and SP was 73 even after 1 ¬Ω hours 3 times longer that the upstage timer setting. So to get the gas backup to come on I set the backup heat lock out to OFF. But now it will bring on gas heat even though the SP is 73 and the Rm temp is 73? Why would it bring any heat on when the space is satisfied?Either I don't understand how these features work together or the software is not doing what the settings indicate.UPDATE: I have spent over 30 days trying to get this stat to work as described in the settings documentation but it will not work the way it is described. When coming out of setback in the heating mode it will not bring on AUX heating even though the setpoint exceeds the heat droop setting and the upstage timer of 30 min has passed. It just sets there with a room temp of 69 and a SP of 73 with the heat pump running but not developing enough heat to move the room temp.I called Honeywell/Residio for help but they were at a loss as to how to solve/explain it. Their solution was "you will just have to change it to AUX heat manually when needed" That's not why I bought it. So now I have a $150 manually operated thermostat.”
