“Decent mass produced elbow. The adjustable joints can be weak, they will come apart sometimes with very little pressure so it is very important to have very accurate fits.”
“I recently purchased three pieces of Master Flow 4” 26-Gauge 90-Degree Adjustable Elbows and four sections of Master Flow 4” 26-Gauge 5’ Sections of Straight Duct for venting from our laundry room dryer through the attic and out the roof eave through a proper exterior dryer vent. When we moved into the house the existing dryer venting system consisted of all aluminum flex ductwork. Flex ductwork builds up lent quite easily and can actually be a fire hazard. It should not be used other than the short runs that typically connect directly to your dryer so you can pull it out away from the wall for accessibility. I installed a new Master Flow system which will now last a lifetime and is easy to run a sweep through to keep it clean and safe from any fire hazard. If you’re going to do it, do it right. Master Flow fits the bill.”
“I use these for my dust collection system. They are adjustable between 0-90 degrees, but not real tight. I will usually tape the seams with aluminum duct tape to tighten the system. They also have the crimped (ruffled) inside diameter on the smaller end. However they are much less $ than the rolled edge ducts that are recommended. I prefer the plastic 4 inch elbows for 90 degree and 45 degree turns, but these will do in a pinch. They do not hold up as well to fatigue, and will likely separate at the joints or the flanges. I usually will slit the non-crimped end 4x for a hose clamp to compress the end over the mating part.”
