I was disappointed because the instructions are just a series of somewhat confusing cartoon-like drawings. Fortunately, YouTube has better. For the price, they could supply better.

I did not buy this from plumbingsupplyandmore. We were at plumbingsupplyandmore and they were featuring their Danco line for 40.00, but had the Moen brand hiding on the lower shelf for 19.99. There is a mistake in the instructions and in the position of the locator notch as our particular part came out of the box. I was able to verify this on a Moen video on you tube. The printed instructions show the locator notch on the same side as the H/C markings, but it needs to be turned to the bottom. I turned mine to the right - the same direction as to turn the faucet off. The locator notch is the extra indent on the end of one of the flat sides of the brass shift. I thought maybe we had some strange orientation issue with our pipes, but the Moen Video confirmed I had installed the part correctly, although differently from the printed instructions. It seems to work fine with no leaking.

I ordered two of these on different days the first one arrived in a open plastic container no instructions on how to install it and missing the lubricant. The on off function of the valve seems a bit loose would easily turn the water to hot or cold if accidentally bumped not good in the shower. The second one works fine it came in a sealed plastic container with all the instructions and lubricant for installation.

Easy installation. Much better than replacing the whole unit.

All went well apart from the manufactring defect in white plastic piece that had no holes cut out in it!! I tried drilling holes in it, but that was useless. Ultimately, pullung on the old cartridge using a set of pliers did the job. Silicone gel was included which made putting the new one easy.
