The Little Giant VCMA-15ULS Model 554405 represents precision-engineered condensate management designed for residential and light commercial HVAC applications where automatic water removal prevents equipment damage and maintains continuous operation. This vertically-oriented pump features a 1/50 horsepower motor delivering 65 gallons per hour at one foot of lift, combined with a half-gallon ABS reservoir and dual-purpose safety switch protecting expensive air conditioning, high-efficiency furnace, and dehumidifier installations from overflow-related failures. Measuring exactly 11 inches in length, 5 inches in width, and 7 inches in height, this compact unit weighs 4.6 pounds and occupies minimal mechanical room space while providing fifteen-foot maximum shut-off head capability. The factory-installed six-foot grounded power cord with three-prong NEMA 5-15P plug eliminates extension cord requirements, while three strategically-positioned 1-1/8 inch diameter inlet openings accommodate multiple condensate sources simultaneously without requiring additional plumbing modifications or custom drainage configurations for multi-zone climate control systems. Vertical Centrifugal Design & 1/50 HP Motor Engineering for Condensate-Specific Performance Applications The MPN 554405 employs specialized vertical centrifugal pump architecture where the motor mounts directly above the collection reservoir, creating a self-contained footprint measuring under one square foot while delivering sufficient discharge pressure to overcome fifteen feet of vertical lift. This 1/50 horsepower high-performance motor operates at 115 volts, 60 Hz, consuming just 60 watts and drawing only one amp during active pumping cycles, making it compatible with standard residential electrical circuits without requiring dedicated breaker installations or electrical service upgrades. Built-in thermal overload protection automatically de-energizes the motor when internal temperatures exceed safe operating thresholds, preventing winding damage from prolonged run conditions caused by discharge line blockages or excessive back pressure. The motor drives a glass-filled polypropylene impeller through a corrosion-resistant stainless steel shaft extending downward into the molded ABS volute chamber, where centrifugal force propels condensate through the integrated 3/8-inch barbed discharge adapter at flow rates reaching 65 gallons per hour under typical installation conditions with minimal head pressure. Half-Gallon ABS Tank Construction with Triple Inlet Configuration & Wall-Mounting Provisions The permanently-sealed half-gallon collection reservoir fabricated from ABS thermoplastic provides exceptional chemical resistance against the slightly acidic condensate produced by high-efficiency gas furnaces while remaining impervious to corrosion, rust formation, and degradation from continuous water exposure throughout the pump's operational lifespan. This leakproof tank incorporates molded-in structural reinforcement ribs preventing flexing under full load conditions, with integrated wall-mounting tabs cast directly into the housing allowing secure vertical or horizontal installation using standard fasteners. Three separate 1-1/8 inch diameter inlet openings positioned around the tank perimeter enable contractors to connect condensate drain lines from air conditioning evaporator coils, furnace secondary heat exchangers, and auxiliary dehumidification equipment without installing additional manifolds or junction boxes. Two inlet ports feature removable threaded cap plugs maintaining watertight seals when unused, while the primary inlet remains permanently open for the main condensate source, accommodating flexible vinyl tubing, rigid PVC pipe connections, or direct insertion of manufacturer-supplied drain lines depending on specific installation requirements.

“Cleaning your condensate pump is something that you want to pay attention to. I had ignored minesince January (eight months), and decided to give it a thorough cleaning. I detached it, unplugged it, and got to work, and somehow broke the impeller for the pump. I ordered this replacement and it arrived the next day. Attached it, plugged it in and it works great. This was also the best price I found anywhere.”

“There's not much that can be said about a condensate drain pump to people who don't need them for commercial use, but the one thing that everyone requires is reliability. This pump does exactly what you expect it to do, and it is rock solid while doing so. I use mine to drain condensate from a dehumidifier in a very humid region, and it has spent every day for months collecting the water, sending it up about seven feet, and then sending it another 15 feet or so to a drain. Since the day of install, the only thought I've had of it is when it kicks on while I'm down there.Recommended. It does what it is supposed to and is easy to get in place.”

“I had my drip line break under foundation and clog so I needed a solution to get the water outside, this was my solution , I did need to add a trap before the pump but it works well now. I have no idea how long this pump will last but it beats having to empty bucket after bucket of water so I am happy”

“This pump was to replace an older model Little Giant that had been in service for over 30 years with no issues. The old pump actually was still working well, but the float switch was starting to stick on occasion causing it to run on after emptying the reservoir. This is a very durable and quiet little pump.”

“My HVAC installed this about 10 years ago for my AC. I didn't properly maintain it, so it got all dirty inside and the pump stop working. So I bought a new one.”

“I noticed some water on the ground around my furnace and upon further inspection found my condensate pump wasn’t functioning properly. A quick search lead me to this exact replacement, it was able to be delivered that day and was a night and day difference from the old 20 year old pump it replaced. It’s whisper silent now and works flawlessly.”
