“After searching local unnamed hardware store and looking up reviews, I chose plumbingsupplyandmore. Arrived on time and easily switched out my original pump.”
“Works great...very easy install. Used existing hardware...just replace with the same model #. Well priced...got it the very next day. I will definitely order from plumbingsupplyandmore again!”
“Here is what I wish I'd known BEFORE installing this pump.. I didn't realize that the 1/2 inch OD plastic vent tubing can very easily crimp at the far drain end during insertion and if you have it run into a drain pipe you can't see thru it ( like 99.9% of them are) and won't know it .. you may not know it till it's too late, or until ( as in my case) you actually test it while fully installed. I made sure the pump worked before installing it into a deep sink ( or washer drain) .. no problem.. But testing after its installed is more crucial. What you may see happen when you test it installed is this: the well in the pump fills up, the pump motor starts as it should, and then begins to overflow. The exhaust tubing will try to vent the water and there are a lot of large bubbles passing very slowly within it and on out thru the tube. You won't know what the problem is, or be sure if there's pressure generated till you pull the drain tubing off and then to your surprise you see water shooting straight up about 5 feet and the water running back OUT of the vent tube both like crazy.. You frantically hold you finger on the pumps vent to block the water shooting out with one hand and while you're getting soaked, as you try to unplug the AC outlet 6 feet away and behind you without getting shocked with the other hand.. .. its a scary situation knowing how pissed your wife will be if it leaks thru the ceiling drywall into the room below at the same time. So, Then you blow into the tubing and find it's VERY hard to pass any air (or water) thru it, and you finally realize the tubing must be blocked some how.. Here's how.. if you drill a 1/2 inch hole in a drain pipe, it’s a snug fit and can't see or feel this happen as you insert the tubing, Rather than simply running down into the drain pipe a foot or so, it can and will bend when it hits the far wall into a series of 270 degree crimps and block the water flow almost completely .. until you pull it back out. cut out the kinks, and re-insert it carefully making sure not to allow any kinks..Then you'll find that you can now easily blow water or air into the tubing from the pump end.. you can then re-connect and re-test it with a quart or so if water, and be certain all's well..Was any of this in the instructions or FAQ guide.. NO, but my lesson learned is this.. always pre-test before adding water by blowing into the vent tube to be sure it's not kinked in the drain pipe.. and actually test the pump with water after it's installed.. I used a 1/2 gallon in two empty water containers up in the attic to do this .. and I recommend you bring a towel to dry out the puddle around the pump set on the ceiling drywall if find you have a blocked vent tube..Regards, JimS”
“This pump was an exact replacement for the old one (20 + Years?) and it fit and worked perfectly. I've used plumbingsupplyandmore professionally before, always with great satisfaction. This was my first personal purchase and I am just as pleased as ever.”
“Replaced old pump which had 10 yr life with new one of like kind. Pump does the job and has a cut off switch. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.”
