“I've owned a Saniplus for about seven years. About six months ago I started having problems with the unit not shutting off properly and clogging. Saniflo rep. said the likely problem was the membrane which needs to trigger the micro switch when the water pressure rises in the tank. The plumber who installed it for me didn't want to look into fixing it so I ended up getting the part and fixing it myself. Replacing the membrane is a pretty messing job and took about two hours. The inside of the tank was extremely disgusting which was probably the result of it clogging as some point. You don't need any special skills to do this, just a lot of determination. If possible plan on taking the whole unit outside to hose the inside out. There's a youtube videos for taking the unit apart for reference.Even with having to do this repair its been worth the investment, just make sure not to flush foreign objects as the macerator won't handle them.”
“Don't waste your time on a knock off, hands down a quieter and more efficient pump. Should have bought this one first but instead I tried a cheap silent Venus pump which I replaced 3 times under warranty. Was a loud and poorly made pump. After the 3rd failure I gave up and purchased this and recommend you do too!”
