I always buy full grain to get the strongest piece, but the surface of this particular piece is just gorgeous, scars, wrinkles, and color variations abound. The dimensions were also very good for me. Enough for a full size keyboard, mouse on one side, and about 8 inches on the other side for anything else I need. I'll be back to buy more in the future. Consider making a carry on backpack!
