Portra 400 is my go-to for studio and environmental portrait photos. I can easily overexpose by up to 3 stops and not even worry about it. The latitude of this film is incredibly impressive. It can also be scanned in to be pretty flat, so editing in post is always a breeze.

Portra 400 has quickly become my favorite color negative film. The colors are realistic to what the eye sees--vibrant but not too. The grain structure is fine for a 400 ISO film. I find it captures skin tones and landscapes realistically. Great film!

The best film stock you can get your hands on. Great color reproduction, wide dynamic range, consistent results. And in medium format, it just shines. This is my go-to film stock, probably 60% of everything I shoot. In comparison, Portra 160 is a bit more specialist which I use when I want to have a wider aperture in bright light for nice depth of field, and Portra 800 for indoor shots with good shutter speeds.

Just like the 35mm review, my go to film stock for both outdoor and indoor. On a recent trip to Las Vegas, I was able to shoot Portra 400 at night in the area around Ceasers and Venetian with all the bright lights using a Mamiya 6 w/ F4 lens. However, the scenes had to be a bit on the brighter side at night.
