“My HZ40E is a lovely unit which I installed myself. Dealer support is terrible. Originally the unit would not function correctly. I replaced the fan module and the transmitter and now it works ok.(dealer supplied) The glass smokes up very badly and my dealer said that because I installed it, it is my problem to have it corrected. There is no place in the installation manual on how to do this. I bought the unit set up for propane and I would expect my dealer to support me and their product. This is not the first Regency product that I have purchased but will be the last”

Thank you sincerely for your purchase of the HZ40; we do appreciate your patronage. As with all gas appliances, units need to be installed by a licensed ticketed gas fitter. Smoke on the glass is an indication of an installation or setup error, as log placement is critical to ensure the unit is operating correctly. We strongly suggest getting a paid service by a dealer to correct issues with installation. Should any problems be due to manufacturer error, as with your previous warranty claim, we will fully support the repair. “Love the fireplace except when the fan is set on the top two speeds, it makes a noise you can easily hear sitting in the room. It has done this since day one! Asked salesperson about having someone look at it under warranty and was never contacted.”
