“Unfortunately this fire place is very difficult to light and creates a large amount of smoke which comes back and fills the room. The glass gets very black after each use despite only burning old dried red gum wood.It is very hard to keep clean. The firebox itself doesn't seem to be deep enough. A concerning issue is that hot coals can fall from the fire box and get underneath the fire box and continue to burn. There is no way to get the hot coals out of this area and it could easily start a house fire. The only way to clean out the coals is to vacuum them once the fire is out and cold. The fans that were supplied and installed by our retailer are not fit for purpose. They installed them in the ceiling however they are clearly wall fan vents and the only purpose they serve is to make a lot of unnecessary noise. We have not been successful in having any after sales service or contact from the retailer and to be honest I don't think they understand the products they sell. As what we were told by the salesman Craig is not what we received. We spent a considerably amount of money to renovate our living room with the fireplace to be the centrepiece however we are left very disappointed. It is not the quality product we thought we were getting, two of the fire bricks cracked after the first week. Our previous fireplace we had for 20 years and never experienced a cracked fire brick. Nor did we have so much trouble lighting the fire, smoke filling the house and blackened glass.”
