Chopper Jacket - Black Black / S Reviews

3.7 Rating 3 Reviews
For a tiny, lightweight jacket that comes with its own storage pouch, the Chopper provides surprisingly big protection from the elements I was down by the river today, wearing it over a Landfall hoodie when an unexpected squall blew thru. The Chopper's light layer of Primaloft kept me both warm and dry in that nasty wind & rain. Black Primaloft insulation's specifically formulated to wick away moisture just like real bird feathers do, and the thin but tough nylon shell kept the cold & wet at bay As much as I like the idea, I'm not even gonna try cramming the Chopper into its cute little tote sack - easier just to toss it into my backpack. Besides, I've read that polyester insulation doesn't fluff back up nice, like genuine goose down does Given the workhorse nature of this simple garment, it's nice to see Roark's gone the distance, as usual, with all those nuanced little touches; practical stuff like an inside velcro'd breast pocket with stealth magnetic outer pocket fasteners ~ and cosmetic stuff like the contrasting liners used for each colorway in the series. The black Chopper, for example, has a sumptuous golden interior that really compliments the inky black exterior Makes me feel like a million bucks Maybe more!

Wore this jacket on my 2 week trip to Italy. It was great for the wind/light rain and fits great. However there are multiple areas where the stitching came undone even after 1 day. 2 weeks of non heavy use and has noticeable pilling which is a shame, as I would love to make it an every day jacket.

Great jacket with two issues - I found it was too long in the torso and you cant stuff it into and internal pocket (which is the case with the majority of 'packable' jackets).
