I love the wool aspect of this jacket. The fit is perfect. The classic look made it very versatile, good from the office for the nearest pub!

I had the original version of this jacket. The one without the magnets for buttons. That was a good jacket but after some time it got worn out. So I bought this jacket and after the first wash it was already faded and part of the back is chipping off. I'm disappointed because the first jacket I bought was great and seemed like it was great quality but this one just isn't the same.

Nice jacket. Fits well - slim but not tight and long enough for taller guys unlike so many other brands. I do wish the pocket openings were a bit bigger to allow the end of the sleeves to get in. Biggest problem with this jacket, and what makes it 3 stars instead of five, is the fireman clasps. They're really annoying! I get that they're "distinctive" and Roark has them there as the identifying design feature, but they're the worst thing about the jacket. They are really awkward when not done up and prevent the jacket from folding open in a comfortable way. Because they are really wide and sit right where the natural fold would form from the collar down. And worst of all the top one prevents the collar from sitting down properly, so it's always lifted half-way up. Seriously, if Roark would switch out these stupid clasps for the regular buttons, this jacket would be near perfect and I would have multiple colors. I just can't see them making the decision to lose the "iconic detail" ever to make the garment way better. Sad.

Pros: The jacket is stylish and warm. It is a truly great looking jacket that I will wear on a night out. Cons: This jacket is a tight fit, anyone with muscle mass will have a hard time lifting their arms above a "T-pose". I was also disappointed that the wool lining didn't extend to the sleeves and stopped at the body. The fabric on the outside looks like it is easily capable of fraying and tearing, I would not trust it on a trek in the wilderness, and the "latch" style buttons on the top have me worried that they will break easily at the hinge with repeated use. For basically $200, I expected a little more. I'm 5"11 at 175 lb, muscular build. Size L

Axeman Jacket. Black, X-Small To call this jacket amazing is an understatement. I bought this jacket to prepare for a cold winter trip to Paris. So glad I did as it kept me warm and toasty while walking around in 28 degree weather. Even while indoors the jacket never felt as if it was overheating. I’m a slim 5’5”, so I ended up going with an extra small. It was a bit bulky at first, but after consistently wearing it, it has slimmed down and fits perfectly. Roark states that this jacket in extra small fits people 5’6” and up, but maybe they can update the website sizing to fit people my height also. So many cool details about this jacket. I really appreciated the Sherpa lined hand pockets which kept my hands warm even without wearing gloves. The front hand pockets also have small magnets which helped keep my small belongings in place. There are three extra pockets (one internally and two externally) that hid my wallet and phone. The collar can also be folded upwards with a small strap which kept my neck nice and warm. There are some jackets out there that are similar, but what really caught my attention are the two metal clasps which add a touch of class and style. I looked around for a while, but this jacket’s style are second to none. Also, the front snaps and YKK zipper gave me no issues at all. All and all, a solid purchase. My only gripe is not being able to wear it enough, but I’m sure I’ll make it happen. Great job Roark. Really pleased with this jacket.
