“I’ve been running trails and competing in ultramarathons for 10 years. As a guy that doesn’t have the typical “runners body” of tall and skinny, buying shorts had always been hit or miss. At 5’7 and 175-185 pounds, with big quads and caboose) a medium tends to be tight in some places, and a large is too loose in others. When I first saw Roark release their Run Amok line, I knew I had to try them. My first pair were the Alta, second pair were the Alta Lites, and now I’ve spent a 100+ miles in the newest gen of Altas (the camo print) and I can say it’s been a wonderful progression. The newest model is as light as the “Lite” but with a slightly better fit. The 5” inseam is perfect for letting the quads breathe and allow for good range of movement. I’ve done a 60k and a 50k so far this year and haven’t had to think about my shorts even once. They dry quickly, without getting that stiffness that sometimes comes with drying sweat. I’ve found the large fits me pretty perfectly. I’ll definitely be picking up a few more pairs. Bonus points for naming the shorts after my home trails!”
