“Looked at a number of crumpet rings (online, but that's another story).
Most had rolled edges, which looked nice, but on closer inspection, I started to get the impression the rolled edge was mostly a compensation for very thin metal - both to help maintain shape, and to prevent cuts. These are good solid steel, won't deform or separate, and also better conduct and retain heat. I'm a total neophyte when it comes to making crumpets and I've only used them once so far, but that was my thinking, and so far I'm quite satisfied. I should also add that using Pay Plan, the order was entered with the wrong shipping address (last place I shipped to), but an email to the company was promptly answered and the issue rectified before shipping (thank you Kevin!)”
