“I grew three of these plants from seed with a 100% germination rate along with two other strains in an indoor SOG setup. In veg these were my best plants bar none - they grew very vigorously and were far more developed than my other plants until I started flowering. Up until this point they were essentially perfect plants that ran into no problems.
However, I started to run into some problems with the GDP plants during flowering that I did not have with either of my other strains. All three of my GDP plants developed some degree of iron deficiency after starting flowering - if you are using RO or distilled water like I did you will need to supplement significantly with iron probably starting right before flowering otherwise your plants might start going yellow and suffer from reduced growth. My GDP plants generally seemed to need a lot more nutes in general than my other plants did, even after accounting for their larger size. One of them also somehow managed to have root rot despite that I was growing in air pots, which seriously set it back in its development resulting in lower yields. In general they were definitely a lot more difficult at this stage than either my Jack Herrer or Afghani plants.
After I addressed these problems each of my plants flourished and produced decent yields of excellent, sticky and pungent bud, but I would not recommend this strain for beginners because it definitely seems to be on the pickier side during flowering. I also noticed that there are at least two phenos of the strain (there seems to be a typical GDP pheno as seen in the site picture and a big bud pheno) that have significantly different properties in terms of growth and flowering, and this might cause problems for people trying to do anything like an indoor SOG setup from seed
Effect is pretty typical stoney indica - good for relaxing at the end of the day. Useful for treating insomnia, chronic pain, inflammation, anxiety, etc. I think the big selling point of this strain is its strong smell and taste - it has a wonderful dank, fruity grapey aroma (maybe somewhere between Grape Ape and Blue Dream) that makes for a very tasty smoke. It's worth growing if you are somewhat experienced, but probably not for beginners.”
“So far they have done great! Haven’t lost any at all, I’m a noob so I started super late but I wanted to try them out anyway! She’s super full and smells nice! Very pleased”
