“Hello,
Here's the rant first. Would everybody kindly stop writing worthless reviews? I mean, giving 5 stars and saying, "great strain" is beyond worthless information and a waste of your time to write it and my time to read it. Thank you. Rant finished.
Here's my review:
Setup: Hydroponic System, 4 buckets, General Hydroponics Expert Flora Series
Gorilla 4x4 tent
Gavita 1000w Plasma for veg (blasted at 1000w until flower!)
Gavita 1000w HPS for flower (note: only run at 600w because it is impossible to control the heat at 1000w!)
Air conditioner for air temperature
ActiveAqua Chiller for root zone
Humidifier for well... humidity control!
Dehumidifier for... humidity control! (used only in late flower)
Fan for continual, gentle air circulation
Guardian equipment for continually data on root zone temp, ppm of food, and Ph
Air stones in all 4 buckets
Continual circulation of nutrients via pump in one of the buckets
I do NOT deal with CO2 at all... the space is too small and not environmentally sealed.
I could write a full article about this plant, however, there are, in my opinion, a few things that you NEED to know when growing Gorilla Cheese Fem. As follows:
1. This plant is VERY susceptible to Nitrogen toxicity! Be careful on this... use less nitrogen than what the recipe calls for... duh!
2) This plant is VERY susceptible to Ph fluctuations!... a Ph fluctuation of +/- 0.2 will cause the plant to show its symptoms... essentially yellow blotched leaves if you don't already know this.
3) This plant is NOT a heavy feeder. I started to burn the leaves at about 800 ppm in the flower stage! Yikes! As I write this, the plants are in their 6th week of flower and they are receiving 560 ppm (very low!).
4) Although described as "60% Sativa," this plant will stretch about 4x its size when switched to flower; e.g. I switched when they were 1 feet tall and now, one of 'em is almost higher than the light! (note: BIG problem).
For what it is worth, my educational background is in the fields of Chemistry and Mathematics but I know a thing or two about Physics and Biology too. I earned a Ph.D. if that means anything or carries any weight; although when it comes to growing pot, a Ph.D. is basically worthless and only experience matters.
On a lighter note, the buds are very sticky and they smell good... you know... they smell like pot! To hell with the "peppery" or "citrus" etc. ad nauseam... if it gets me very high, I am happy!
I hope this helps anyone who is considering growing this particular strain. I would boldly suggest that this plant is NOT your first strain to begin your growing adventures. You pretty much need to know what's going on with the plant cycles to grow this one well.
Be well,
Jugglinjim.
P.S. Only 3 stars because, well, it's an average plant! Nothing special and I don't hand out 4/5 stars like candy; this help no one but the seller.”
“Yea kind of disappointed the gorilla cracked but never took off i really wanted this strain its so pricey i could only get 1 seed i dont know if theres a way to get a replacement but im goin to have to get it again somehow”
