DWARF TOMATO - Gondwana Lightning Reviews

5 Rating 2 Reviews
This is my second time of growing dwarf Gondwana Lightening. It definitely lives up to it name. Out of all the dwarfs I have tried so far this is one of the fastest to germinate and grows vigorously. But I like unlike some it isn’t that dwarf and needs a good trellis or sturdy cane. To get more fruits I find it needs more seaweed fertiliser too than some of my other varieties, as it tends to grow a lots of leaves which are nice but not the reason we grow it. Beautiful mid size dark fruits that don’t thankfully tend to get many issues with my hungry king parrots, caterpillars or stinging flies here in the subtropics. Definitely worth growing and eating delicious when ripe. But again the fruit isn’t the fastest to ripen compared to say my travellers tomatoes. My fastest dwarf so far is Kangaroo Paw which has a bit smaller fruits to be fair but similar in taste although lightening is a bit richer in favour hence why I like it so much. Overall a great choice and will be on my list to grow again for sure.

Seeds germinated well, all through. Used heat pad and they were up in 7 days. Growing well still indoors due to cold weather but plants doing well with true leaves. Look forward to planting out and even more to tasting them.
