“Great escapism to be had here.Gollum steals the show, a fantastic creation, thoroughly entertaining.I love some of his lines ' nasty Hobbits' 'big fat Hobbit' the list is long and makes this episode of the trilogy for me.I am watching the series for the second time, I first saw them on original DVD release.The Fellowship of the Ring I enjoyed a touch more than this one.I'm not sure why, I just did.That said, this is an excellent movie.I dropped a star to 4 which means 'I liked it' simply because I liked it, I didn't love it which is what 5 stars is.”
