Having stumbled along with decent but deficient wallets, I decided to purchase from Fort Belvedere. Part of me worried that I’d suffer from buyer’s remorse. The worry was baseless. This wallet is thoughtfully designed. It’s aesthetically pleasing (both visual and tactile). And it’s very functional. It fits well in a breast pocket or in pants. The leather is firm (which for me is a good quality), and is breaking in nicely. I expect to use it happily for a long time.

Received my purchase in a quick period. Once received, it came in a beautiful presentation that I gave decided to keep. The wallet itself is more beautiful in person. The quality of the leather is unmatched to other high end wallets. The two color variations make it very unique and I have received multiple compliments when I pull my wallet out to make a purchase. It is safe to say I am very happy with my purchase and I will continue to purchase from this website.

Folks, I purchased the black leather with red interior wallet. The leather and construction are solid. The wallet has plenty of room for currency, and several card slots. The leather divider in the interior of the wallet is rather flimsy. It will be interesting to see how long this piece of the wallet lasts. As far as the card slots, there are 10 of them. The credit cards all sit snugly withing the card slots. However, when cards are placed in too many of the slots (~6-7 cards and over) the wallet fails to close completely. Under conditions where you are holding only cash the wallet sits in your pocket flatly. However, if you put the aforementioned number of cards in the slots of the wallet, it does not close completely. Not sure how the manufacturer could remedy this issue, but it makes the wallet sit kind of fat in your pant pocket. Overall, good quality wallet. Leather is good. However, I don't think the quality of the wallet warrants a $200+ price tag.

Thank for honest review. The leather we use for the divider is the same bboxcalf we use for the lining and it is on the stiffer side I would say. Leather is a flexible products and it stretches. I have been using the same wallet for 7 years now and it holds all the cards and sometimes more or less cash. I can assure you we use the best quality and priciest leathers we can find from tanners in Germany and we manufacture it in Germany where labor costs are higher than in Italy or China because we believe the quality is great.

I would like to echo the concerns of an earlier reviewer, that being the reverse side of the bill divider is undyed with about 1cm folder over and glued. I bought all 3 of the offered wallets as gifts to relatives and close family friends. All of them has the same design choice of having an undyed reverse of the bill divider. I will rank it from least noticable to most noticeable: 1) Brown / Blue; 2) Burgundy / Turquoise; 3) Black / Red; Based on the concierge’s reply they could have added another layer of leather, but they decided not to because it would be thicker. Personally if they had done either one of the ff it would be better than what they currently have & have minimal to no impact on thickness: 1) Used a longer cut of leather so that it would reach all the way down; 2) Used a good quality fabric w/ similar color as the leather w/ their logo sewn in to cover the undyed portion; 3) Dye the reverse side w/ a similar color. Next, color difference in shop pictures compared to actual items, though it can be due to lighting effects used and monitor settings: 1) Black / Red wallet - the red is on the darker shade, I would say almost maroon; 2) Brown / Blue - its almost exactly the same as the pictures of the site; 3) Burgundy / Turquoise - the Turquoise is of a darker shade. There is a picture uploaded by another reviwer for said wallet color. Last, are comments on the particular items I got which may not apply to others: 1) Brown / Blue wallet - there is a noticeable fold mark on one side of the wallet starting on the lower left going up to 2/3 to the upper right. 2) Burgundy / Turquoise - someone might have used a polish that is not clear as the credit card folds have a stain of burgundy on sides exposed when the wallet is closed, though its not that noticeable.

We have changed the production so the leather. divider is the same leather as the lining. In order for the red to have the depth it has in the front, the underside needs to be lighter in color so it shines through. Of course, if you ever do not like the wallet, you can always return it.

Upon receipt of the red and black wallet, I was shocked to find that, after such an exhaustive description of quality and craftsmanship, the reverse side of the red leather bill divider was unfinished showing a bare off white. This makes the wallet look unfinished as well as having a jagged folded and glued exposed edge, such a waste considering that it is otherwise quite nice, what would it have taken just to cover or simply dye the back of the leather divider? . The only reason I gave 3 stars is because it is otherwise a well made wallet. But you will notice in all of the detailed pictures on the site, they make a great effort to avoid showing you the bare side of the divider. Beware what you are getting into for such a pricey wallet, check the return policy. I am still wrestling with them to give me a refund for about a week now with no resolution yet.

Hi there! Thank you for your review. We have responded to the email we sent you; we apologize for the delay as it was sent on a weekend. The gap is necessary as the thread has to be brought over from one side to the other. The leather has to be folded in and if we made it shorter and less visible, the leather is more likely to rip when sewn.

First high-end wallet, and I opted to purchase from Fort Belvedere as I like to support smaller companies rather than the big name brands as much as I can. I was looking into wallets from prada/SF/TF and for the money they just didn't seem worthwhile, this was an excellent alternative. We'll see how the wallet wears over-time as I've only had it about a week, too early to tell yet, but so far I love it. And i've received lots of compliments for the red accenting since basically ever other wallet my friends have is a solid colour, which is almost always black.

Thank you for your purchase, Michael! I can vouch for this wallet as it took us three years in testing out different prototypes until we've come up with a wallet that's built to last. Enjoy your wallet for the years to come! :)

I bought this wallet for my boyfriends birthday and he loves the thing. The extra pocket for money helps keep everything organized; having 10 slots for cards will do the same. The red threading on the black face of the wallet really makes it pop.

Raphael, the black and red wallet just arrived measuring 3 7/8" x 4.5" While I do think this wallet is a tad on the large size, it behaves better in my pocket than my 3.5" x 4" wallet does because it stays in the front pocket of my trousers more squarely and does not rotate. If you were to make a smaller one, say 3.5" x 4", I would definitely buy it. I would not part with this one however, I would keep them both. The subtly rounded corners do indeed allow it to glide in and out of my pocket more easily than any other I have owned. The thing that I am most impressed with is the quality of the leather. When I ordered this wallet, I gave it a 50/50 chance of being immediately returned upon inspection. I was pleasantly surprised at the rich look and feel of the leather, and of course the attention to detail and fit and finish. So, to all that read this, the wallet that arrived to me solidly delivers all the features and benefits as espoused in this video. Congratulations Raphael, you have designed a super high quality product, I expect it to provide many years of service before it starts appearing worn out.
