I was initially skeptical of spending $90 on a tie. Having received the bow tie, the quality is premium and worth the price. This specific tie is a classic look which cannot find at any department store. Considering the box it comes in, the premium material and look, $90 is WORTH IT!

I've been wearing bow ties occasionally for decades and I have to say that this is the best bow tie in my collection, hands down. Most ties are too thick to knot and straighten in a short period of time. This Ancient Madder Silk is so lightweight and chalky that I get it right the first time. This particular tie uses a beautifully light shade of red that it goes with all my blue, grey, and brown suits. I've also been told that it makes me look very collegiate.

I just had the chance to watch Raphael's YouTube video entitled "Does 'Made In' Matter?" It offered an excellent perspective of what I had initially considered a drawback of this tie: It is made in Vietnam. Well, actually just finished in Vietnam; it's far more complex than that and you can watch the video for the details. I noticed this issue was also addressed in response to another reviewer's comment as well, so apparently I'm not the only one who was concerned. If I might proffer a suggestion, it would be to list "Made in Vietnam" on the tie's description on the website. Other products on the site have things like "Made in Germany" proudly displayed, whereas for this tie it simply reads, "Made by hand." Intentional or not, it comes across as if the country of origin was deliberately omitted from the description. I suggest "Made in Vietnam" be included with the description, perhaps along with a note (or even a link to the "Does 'Made In' Matter?" video) to assure consumers that the level of quality is high. As for the tie itself? Fantastic. I have ordered several Fort Belvedere items over the past few years and have always been impressed with the quality. Please keep up the good work, and stay healthy. Cheers!

I am really impressed by Raphael's show and advice. I send friends links to his youtube channel regularly. He provides great insight into gentlemen's fashion. With that said, I am disappointed in this Bow Tie, especially for the price. I was under the impression that these bow ties were made exclusively in England (or Europe for that matter) given the statement that the fabric is sourced from the U.K.--"Fort Belvedere sources its fabric from England, the home of Real Ancient Madder." I flipped the tie open to try it on and discovered it was made in Vietnam. I can buy nice ties from Ted Baker London made here in the states for about the same price. Now, I am left with serious doubts of where the fabric is actually sourced, and if it is in fact Madder Silk? Beautiful pattern nonetheless

Thank you very much for your support, we really appreciate it :) The silk we use for all of our products is either woven and printed in Italy or England. They are made in small family run businesses and cost 5 to 6 times as much as regular silk. Of course, the silk raw material comes from China where more than 90% of all raw silk comes from, including the best qualities. The interlining is Italian too, and the 3 ply silk thread is from Germany and since that is the lion share of the value, we could label it as made in Italy. However, we tested many facilities in the U.S., England, Germany, Italy, France, China, Japan and Vietnam and the latter was the best, which is why they are cut and sewn there. We are all about quality and hence we source the best stuff we can find and have it then sewn according to our patterns and specs. I hope that helps. The question of made in is no longer simple and easy because we really go the extra mile to get better ingredients because we believe it results in a better product.

In my country is very hard find real bow tie in the shops, there are only fake "plug and play" and then I surfed on the web and find Getleman's Gazette with very impresive products, this tie has a particular style, the color is the same that appear in the photo, the material is very soft and finally the blue details definitely make a stylish bow tie that I'm going to wear in my wedding celebration. Everyone said that this bow tie is beautiful. Very good product, I'm glad to find Gentleman's Gazette.

Hi Jose! We're happy that you like them. This fabric is actually hand printed four times that's why the colors are intact and eye-catching. Make sure to tie it a little unbalanced as a perfectly symmetrical bow tie will look too cheap. Looking forward to doing business with you again!
