“I always thought I was supposed to match my socks to my shoes, but an excellent video from the Gentleman's Gazette disabused me of this belief. I took the plunge and bought a pair of the shadow stripe socks in brown and beige fil d'Ecosse cotton. I also went crazy and got a pair of teal and purple ones. I started with the dark brown and beige ones, paring them with a tan camel hair coat and dark brown slacks over a nice blue shirt with a grenadine navy tie. Little steps. I wore this to an art exhibit of some new work. I felt a bit bold, but knew I was well turned out. I had recently lost weight and had to build an entirely new wardrobe. This was a debut for my new image. I put aside my normal uniform of jeans, black t-shirt and tennies. I felt much more powerful in my dressed up persona and noticed a few admiring glances. One nice lady walked up to me and introduced herself as the artist, and thanked me for coming. We had a nice chat and I told her about the new socks and how I was being daring. She broke into a marvelous giggle and told me I looked terrific. That did very nice things for my ego and told her as much. Next time out I'm wearing the teal and purple. Craziness will ensue!”

“I have a dozen pairs of GG socks now, in different colors, and I have to say that I love them. They look classy, they're very well-made, and they stay up all day long. The color schemes are easy to pair with trousers and other wardrobe items. I used to buy Pantherella socks but found that they wear faster than my GG socks. I haven't found better socks anywhere, at least so far.”

“Given the frequency with which I wear brown trousers, from sand to chocolate colored, these brown/beige socks are my most used pair. I bought a second pair for exactly that reason. They also nicely get around the issue of matching socks to either the shoes or trousers when working with different browns.”

“I've only been able to find crew socks in stores before. They're nice, but always seem to fall down and bunch up at my ankles. Then I found Fort Belvedere's over the calf dress socks. They stay up all day, and the shadow stripes make them easy to match up with a variety of outfits. They are stylish without being overstated, and well made. I am usually hard on socks, so durability is yet to be determined since I just started wearing be them. However, I think the price is justified so far. Highly recommended.”

“Do not purchase any socks from Gentleman's Gazette. While the socks are comfortable they do not hold up in the long term. Cost per wear is high as the socks will fray, unravel, tare apart and not hold up. Look for other high quality socks at other on-line markets. Avoid GG socks due to poor quality and durability.”
