I purchased this dark red boutonniere as a safe choice/easily-coordinated accessory for a then upcoming job interview. It admirably served it's purpose, getting numerous compliments (including security, mostly seriously, telling me that the job "was mine" as I passed through). I now find myself going out of my way to wear it on a regular basis. It's apparent now why red carnations are such a classic--I could not be more pleased!

I actually love this boutonnière very much, but the material that makes up the pedals of the dark red carnation are rougher than that of the white carnation boutonnière I own. With that said, as much as I love it, I wish it was a bit softer to the touch.

Before Belverde the wallets bought were of cheap material. This is an amazing product and of high quality.

I’m perfectly delighted that I found out about this site, and very eager to test this out - along with two additional flowers that I ordered - in my next white tie (classical music concert) situation. From what I can tell, this is an excellent, quality product with a surprisingly very nice presentation.

One of three boutonnieres I ordered, along with a poppy and an edelweiss. Of the three, it was the least realistic - the petals are so flat the boutonniere has an almost pressed appearance. Nevertheless, it filled a role well enough. However, I was wearing it with a light colored jacket and managed to get caught out in some rain. Before I knew it, the dye was running out of the boutonniere and into my lapel. For the price you pay, I'd expect at least some colorfastness. This thing ran like a marker - half my lapel is now pink, soaked through to the chest of the jacket behind it. The color ran so readily that when I removed the boutonniere to stop the damage and it brushed the collar of my shirt it stained the shirt as well. I had to be careful how I handled the jacket to avoid staining anything else. The one upside is that a little moisture added some realistic depth to the petals. If you must wear this boutonniere, check the weather to make sure it won't rain, you won't sweat, or it won't be too humid. Or, possibly, just cut to the chase and wear pink.

Dear Mike, I am sorry to hear you were not happy with boutonniere. We hand dye them in silk thus it cannot be colorfast. I can personally vouch that it has never happened to me before but I have never been soaked in the rain, and we do not recommend wearing them in the rain. Though I do sweat more often than not and it was never an issue for me. In any case, we would be happy to provide you with a gift card in the value of a boutonniere if you send us a picture of your damaged one to contact@gentlemansgazette.com if you need further assistance. I apologize once again. Kind regards, Sven Raphael Schneider
