“I’ve always been a normal tie-wearer, so branching out and trying something as different as a bow tie was a different experience. I felt I needed to make an investment that justified itself and this Fort Velvedere Silk Shatung Bow Tie did that and much else. I usually have a tendency to wear incorrect combinations or clashing styles, so I wanted to really correct that this time as our medical school “prom” even approached. I ended up receiving at least three compliments on the tie within the first hour. It even started spirited conversations regarding self-tying ties and not-so-stylish prefolded bow ties. Overall I caught onto the YouTube videos that have been published and immediately felt connected to the emphasis on quality and the objective truth that anything of true quality will always cost more. Fort Velvedere, along with Gentleman’s Gazette, all imbue Sven Raphael Schneider’s keen and precise eye for style and of course, quality. These realizations have made me realize that investing in quality items made of quality long-lasting material, will always be the better choice, and for that I say thank you very much.”

“This bow tie is exactly as a advertised. I wear bow ties frequently but have none that are sized to my neck. This one is and dispenses with a metal clasp, giving it a more sophisticated, old world feel. The shantung silk has subtle, vertical, linear "irregularities" in the weave that give it character and provide just the right amount of contrast to my tuxedo's silk lapels, without clashing in the least. The bow tie is sized nicely. I prefer smaller, pointed end bow ties for day wear but wanted a traditional butterfly shape for formal wear. This one is cut in a classic shape, yet isn't too large. Bravo!”
