“I bought this cummerbund to match the bow tie I purchased for my wedding. It is of quality but for the price, I expected it to be made in Italy or in the US, not in Vietnam. Sizing was also way too big for my waist. I wear a size 32 waist. I didn't realize there was a small/medium version of this until it was too late. I would like to exchange it but do not want to eat the shipping costs. Overall, good product. Thank you.”

The silk we use for all of our products is either woven and printed in Italy or England. They are made in small family run businesses and cost 5 to 6 times as much as regular silk. Of course, the silk raw material comes from China where more than 90% of all raw silk comes from, including the best qualities. The interlining is Italian too, and the 3 ply silk thread is from Germany and since that is the lion share of the value, we could label it as made in Italy. However, we tested many facilities in the U.S., England, Germany, Italy, France, China, Japan and Vietnam and Vietnam was the best, which is why they are cut and sewn there. We are all about quality and hence we source the best stuff we can find and have it then sewn according to or patterns and specs. I hope that helps. The question of made in is no longer simple and easy because we really go the extra mile to get better ingredients because we believe it results in a better product.

“I purchased a silk satin bow tie and cummerbund as I was having a very difficult (almost impossible) time finding one in stores (Saks, Nordstrom, etc) or online. While the initial price seemed high, I wanted quality items that would last a long time. Shipping updates were very detailed via email and I received a professional packed box with both items inside within 5 days during the Holidays! The items were exactly as described even with my sub par bow tie skills. They match my silk shall collar perfectly and give the whole outfit that perfect finishing touch that was noted by multiple family members within minutes. It is always nice to know you are wearing the proper materials when in formal attire, as it really does make you pop out from the crowd. Many people even told me they had no idea a sized bow tie existed as they have only seen adjustable ones. I would not hesitate to purchase from The Gentleman's Gazette again and highly recommend anyone in need of a proper ties and high end dress attire to look at their offerings. Thanks Gentleman Gazette for giving my formal attire that extra pop. I will definitely return.”

“I received the cummerbund as promised and the quality is excellent. One item that I noticed that was missing (to my disappointment) that should be standard on this (and any) cummerbund is an elastisized loop that will attach to the inside of your tuxedo trousers so that it will not ride up. For a cummerbund of this quality and cost, this important detail should have been standard. I will now need to go and have a tailor add it to the garment. Small disappointment. Otherwise, always a pleasure working with quality items.”

“There was no little elastic loop in the front to keep it in place, I don’t know why? My grand total was $920 and nothing was shipped in Fort Belvedere gift box. I love the socks and white evening & peccary gloves.”
