Quite disappointed with this toaster. I’ve got a good few things made by Swan, but this is really light, and quite ‘cheap’ looking.

Lovely looking toaster (I got retro orange colour) and worked fine for 2+ years, to be fair. Note to future buyers: toaster does not take large slices of bread (800g loaf, medium sliced). Not a deal breaker for us. The problem is the lever: it's entirely made of plastic, hence prone to breaking. Don't be fooled by the lever's silver colour online - the LEVER is NOT metal as one might assume - it is PLASTIC. Lever snapped off and shortly afterwards the toaster stopped working altogether. Unfortunately, post 2-year warranty. I won't be buying this model again - or any other Swan toaster (unless Swan change the method of lever construction).

I bought this toaster in red. I’m really impressed and pleased with it. It toasts well and evenly. I wanted another Swan to taster. I decided to retire my previous Swan toaster. It was still working but was 26 years and 7 months old. Hopefully this one will be as reliable

I have tried to post this review twice now and notice it never is posted as it seems Swan don’t like 1 star negative reviews. So, I will try again and not via the link they sent me to review. I bought this in orange and the kettle in yellow, as I liked the retro look of them both and they do look very nice. However, the toaster is not great quality and has no ‘guts’ behind it. It’s very tinny and the slots seem to be smaller that normal and you have to push in standard sized bread. It take two attempts to get a decent colour and it’s not evenly coloured. It has no strength to pop up and I put this down to the squeezed in bread that now sticks and can’t pop up. I’m keeping the kettle but this, I’m giving to the charity shop and I can’t believe I only had it two months. But it’s my loss and had Swan allowed all comments, good and bad, I might have avoided wasting my money.
