“surf up in the north of the UK and have ridden on 6-8ft waves and right down to 1-2ft swells, and both green and white waves. I’m a bit overweight and I find a good 2ft wave on this is enough power to let me stand up. Its been amazing for my progression as it’s reactive and manoeuvrable. The only thing I would say is with the fins I would advise you to screw in some grubs, as the fins flex they pop out in wipeouts (lost a fin on the second day of use) and lots of local surfers advised putting them in fsc11 fins as it’s a common occurrence on our beach that they get lost (there is a community collection of them to rummage through to see if a dog walker has picked them up at low tide). I will say I now ride with fibreglass fins and the board is even better, it’s more reactive to turning and even faster. In regards to transporting, the Beastie is really easy to clean and wipe down, it doesn’t keep dripping once I’ve wiped it so keeps the van dry.”
