I have been looking for a jacket for running and came across Showers Pass. I found last year's model of the Syncline at a significantly lower price than the current model and decided to go for it. I am pleased! As far as performing, it's is definitely waterproof and ready for Portland area rain. I love how lightweight it is. I opted for a medium which works fine. The arm length is perfect. I have a longer torso, so a large size might have been better for that, but then I would have ended up with much longer arms. As it is it sits at my waist, but it's too crop-toppy if I raise my arms above my head. And I can't fault Showers Pass for my body shape:) As far as breathability, I leave the pit vents open and it's breathes fine during walking and hiking. However during a 4+ mile run, by the end my arms were sweaty. Unzipping the jacket helped my torso breath better but my arms were pretty saturated during the last half of the run. I recognize that the jacket is likely more gear towards biking, hiking and walking AND if one is going to run, they are going to sweat. It's part of the deal, so I feel like I can't fault the jacket for that. I will likely use it on runs in straight rain versus partial and continue to use it as a daily driver. The reflective pieces are nice, and it's crinkly and noisy which my wife isn't a fan of, but all in all I love it and will certainly recommend the product and Showers Pass when I can. Definitely made for PNW weather.
