“This is a revised review. After the company reached out to me with feedback I thought a more accurate review was justified. I purchased these for use for all levels of rain and snow. They have performed phenomenly in drizzle, flurries and the occasional bursts of heavier rain. However, I was caught in a downpour wearing them and they very quickly soaked through. These pants are not intended for heavy rain. They have a stretch sides that are not waterproof, and in heavy rain, your legs will get soaked. This is mentioned as a product feature, but I must have overlooked it when purchasing them, as I was suprised by their permeability to heavy rain. I would highly recommend these to anyone seeking pants for light to mild rain, but would not consider these all weather. That being said, the stretch side makes them more flexible and breathable.”
Hey Stu, thank you for taking the time to share a review. We're sorry about the wet experience with your pants!
The Skyline pants have stretch sides that are not waterproof, as indicated in the product features. We developed these pants for light rain, road spray, and mud.
If you're looking for waterproof pants, please get in touch with us at support@showerspass.com. We can offer a one-time exchange for a different style among our fully waterproof pants.
“These pants are the real deal. Rain, not a problem, cold out? Not when wearing these, and the god damn belt loops are the shit. Just buy a pair already.”
“Full disclosure: I ordered it online after a lengthy and positive phone call w/ Showers Pass folks. Unfortunately, the item(s) I ordered did not fit even though I ordered one item my size (potentially) and another of the same item one size larger (!). I had no problem returning all of these items, pants and jacket. I have had three Showers Pass Elite jackets which I've worn through brevets, double centuries, commuting 42 miles/day for 11 years and Paris-Brest-Paris. These are clearly the best cycling jackets in the world and I will continue to hunt for one that fits!”
“Purchased these pants as a gift and ordered the recipient's recommended size (L). The legs on these pants were too tight. Ordered next size up; still too tight. Finally got a pair that fit decently with an XXL. Nice pants, just too tight in the legs. Phone assistance with staff was EXCELLENT!”
“Listed as a "3-Season' pant I found the 'exceptional breathability' to be anything but! A short 20 mile training ride in 55-60F and light to moderate rain and my legs were soaked mid-way through the ride. Have to assume the bulk of the moisture from sweating as the rain was mostly just light. I think added zippered protected vent flaps on thighs and maybe mesh back of knee areas would be better than the fabric currently used to vent on sides. Also whilst the overall size fit was good the design of the knee areas tended to pull the pant down in vigorous riding in my case - perhaps a belt would offset but not preferable. Expensive to sit mostly unused at this point due to lack of effective ventilation but guess I'll try to find other uses - overall disappointed in performance, general fit OK but could be improved and ventilation basically a fail imo.”
“Love Shower's Pass‚ Hate these pants. I have other products from them and they fit perfectly. These pants, I sized at the same go as my others, which were a large (and I'm really a medium) and they were ridiculously a Ronald McDonald pant. The hips were mega-wide while the calves so tight I could barely fit. I'm a normal 5'9‚guy, weighing about 180 with a 30‚inseam, and they made me look like a Massachusetts State Trooper. Yeah, no thank you. I call Shower's Pass, and they asked me to share what was going on and that it was possibly a bad batch, as other customers were saying the same thing. They also told me I would likely get a full refund. Sadly, they did not do that and charged me for return shipping. I didn't make a fuss since it was $5, but I hope they get these pants fixed.”
