“WITHOUT PREJUDICE Having seen the handrail in situ on your web site we were extremely impressed and ordered our handrails to accommodate our 3 floored victorian house. Upon receipt we discovered the rails were untreated, and certain poles were a completely different colour from others (not as in picture), and brass endpiece fittings needed to be attached and glued. After perusing the pictures I e-mailed to you, you did agree that the colour variations were unacceptable and did supply a replacement section. After discussions with Sam your sales person, who I hasten to add is a credit to your company, we then accepted an apology, a credit of £100 and you to supply satin varnish which enabled us to try and create the desired effect at additional labour costs to ourselves. You did offer to collect the rails, apply varnish and return but were concerned the delivery company you employ may delay the proceedings and possibly damage the rails. We were also unaware that the brass fittings also needed to be fitted by ourselves. You do state that your "small print" does mention this in your terms and conditions but we did order in good faith as your web site picture. Perhaps we should have been more cautious and thorough before ordering. We are relatively inexperienced with on-line ordering - a lesson well-learned. The rails have now been fitted by our contractor and are serving the intended purpose. Overall, a disappointing experience - we certainly have learned the lesson to scrutinise terms and conditions of anything we purchase on line in future.”

“As described., good quality fittings. Wood needs lacquer ing or staining before fitting. Comes without instructions which are on the website. Would be good to include a paper version with the item.”
