“This review isn't so much for the fan itself but the fan pocket in the slumberpod. The fan works just fine. Unfortunately, the fan pocket seems like an after thought. The fan does not sit at an angle in the pocket that circulates any air to the child. It sits so low that the air can't really be felt inside. Im going to have to get in there and sew the pocket tighter so it actually functions the way its supposed to.”
Thank you for sharing your feedback. The lower fan pouch creates a chimney like effect circulating the air throughout the pod for indirect airflow. We do have upper fan pouch kits available on our website which would help provide a direct airflow. “I’ve tried a few potable fans over the years, especially for travel. I like the fan on at night to help me sleep! I’ve never found anything in this size that’s more powerful!! I just put it on my nightstand at night and not only does it keep me cool but gives off a nice white noise. I use this more then my baby!”
“Very disappointed, never turned on when plugged in. I have been a long time evangelist for slumber pod and needed this for a trip to Montana but it never started and my baby was overheating.”
“It does black out- but also heats up! We happen to be in the mountains in a condo with no AC. We threw the windows wide open and used a box fan to bring in air, and opened all the vents on the pod. Still, in the course of one nap, the temp went up eight degrees. Totally unacceptable. Come to find I should have added to my purchase the fan… that really should be part of the original package, not a separate purchase. Going from 70 to 78 degrees in one hour is totally unsafe.”
Sorry to hear about this. SlumberPod is tested and approved for indoor (climate controlled) use. The temperature inside the pod can be up to 2 degrees + or - the temperature of the room it is being used in.
“These little slumber pod blackout tents are very well constructed and do a great job of blacking out while allowing air flow into the crate making for peace of mind for me and a restful night for my puppy.”
