“I was really glad to find this cool style that fit my taste online. I decided to pay for blue light blocking as an extra add on and was excited to get them! They arrived as described and looked great, but just would not stay on my head no matter what - they slide down my nose and if I tip my head forward just the slightest amount the glasses fall right off my face.
I am unfortunately past my 30 day return date, I wish I had seen the problem sooner but I just got my first pair of glasses a few days before I ordered these and didn't notice the problem immediately as these were my "going out" glasses and my other prescription was my work pair. I am fairly handy and could have swapped the hinge out, but it is integral to the arm design. If anyone has a fix for this issue, I am all ears! I probably won't wear these at all unfortunately, even though I would really like to.”
“I was excited when they added the Lowdown Steels to RX but disappointed that they did not keep the rubber nose pads. This is one of my favorite feature of Smith sunglasses.”
“I’ve been using smith since glasses for over ten years and have been extremely happy with quality, style and durability. This week I have a screw come out of the prescription glasses. This has never been an issue with the sunglass line. I’m pretty disappointed and now wonder how many times/year I’ll need to deal with this issue.”
“Quality is nice, had plenty of pairs of Smiths over the years(+25).. I currently have three pairs of Lowdown sunnies.. (regular, XL’s and Steels).
These frames are the same minus one key ingredient. Nothing on the nose piece to keep them from falling down.(see pics of this piece on my sunglasses)
All my Lowdown sunglasses have a rubber (ish) piece to prevent this. I emailed to discuss and the customer service person told me one thing, “get ahold of the warranty department”.. I replied, haven’t heard back from anyone.
So in the meantime, they spend most of the time on the floor..
