“Recently got the Lowdown 2 Matte Gray Tortoise with the chroma pop polarized gray green lens. In replacement of my glossy gray tortoise which they no longer have. Overall it’s obviously a nice pair of sunglasses but I don’t like the matte tortoise as much as my last pair. As well as the “chroma pop polarized gray green lens” on these mattes seem much different than the last. These actually seem quite brown. I’m wondering if these do have a brown lens and I was just sent the wrong ones. Always been a big fan of Smith and these will do just fine. Just wish I had the extra money to try the glass lens or maybe even a different frame.”
“I had my lenses scratch in two weeks on the newer glass lenses that are supposedly more scratch resistant. With the premium price of smith eye wear i expected more from this product, especially when my other pairs of lowdowns with poly carbonate lenses never scratched this badly. I reached out to customer service and the best they could offer is 30% off a new pair. . . needless to say I'll be shopping elsewhere if smith cant stand behind their product.”

Bought a new pair with the matte frames, and they feel…cheap. I had the feeling of the matte plastic, doesn’t feel uniform and is kind of grippy on my face. I wear these fishing, biking and skiing. So bummed to have to switch to a new sunglass brand. Bring back the classic tortoise!! I loved those frames and they held up to an unbelievable amount of abuse. The matte is not for me, also makes the frames look almost black which is not for me either!”
