“My son bought me these for Christmas. I've never heard of these sunglasses beg now, and like the large lenses and shape of the frames. My daily sunglasses are COSTA sunglasses. I'll having to see how these compare to the other one.”
“I purchased this glasses because they had big lenses / big frames. if you have a larger head / face this part is great the only issue is the temples are standard size and will end up being very short. Wish the would update with longer temple / different style. You can't have xl glasses with short temples....”
“These sunglasses look amazing, even if the blue tortoise shell pattern is much less noticeable (less vibrant) unless under certain lighting conditions compared to the picture.
The platinum lens mirror look is perfectly complimented with the frame style and color, plus the extra large size gives plenty of surface area of lens to give a really unobstructed view. Fits my large head perfectly, and now when I try on non-oversized sunglasses it just doesn't feel right.
Quality feels great with strong rigid frame and the hinges for the arms feels strong and secure when opening and closing.
The only thing I would have liked to see in this pair of glasses is a slightly darker lens tint as wearing these outdoors in extremely sunny conditions I feel like I need to block to the sunlight to see better.”
“I love these, the felt a little big at first but look and fit great. Fit nicely under a trucker hat - I was a little worried they'd bump into the peak. The basic lens is great, my eyes feel relaxed after prolonged periods out in the sun.”
“I get a lot of compliments on them. I've always had the Pitch blacks but wanted to try something new without being too wild and this grey was just the right amount of change for me. They feel great on the face and fit nicely with my bigger head. I wear them fishing on the boat and really like the glare cutting of the Chroma Pop. The Hinges have started to squeak already but it's no big deal, probably just salty”
“Firstly let me say, Generally, I've been very pleased with the selections I've purchased (Dolen, Dover, Outlier XL [twice], & Highwater). The fit & quality (frame & lens) have been first-rate and have really enjoyed them. Those were my expectations for the Lowdown XL2. While the fit & lens met my expectations, the build quality came up short. The paddles do not close flush and seem quite loose. Perhaps I've become spoiled with the other models, but it just came up short, hence the 3-Star rating.
All this said, I will continue to buy Smith, as my preferences evolve and my bank account replenishes.”
