“Glasses themselves are remarkable. Somehow they managed to make sunglasses that brighten up your view and make everything crisp instead of dulling your vision. The leash attachment is better on the hookset model though.”
“Bought Guide Choice, Glass Cracked first week …. Smith Reply’s “The warranty program does not include a product that is lost, stolen, dropped, sat on, stepped on, run over, shattered, chewed by your pet, or any other damage that is caused by misuse, abuse, or negligence; with specific reference to apparel, the warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and material through time, exposure or extensive use*. ””
“I have had two pair of the Guide and both the inside of the lens didn’t hold up. I remember when Smith’s were made with glass lenses and cost 60 bucks. Before the monopoly bought !!!!!!”
“I bought Guides Choice with ChromaPop™ Glass Polarchromic Brown Green Mirror lenses for whitewater kayaking and fishing. When the sun shone on a wrippled water, white water or wet rocks the glasses made them a super bright copper (metal) color. It was so bright at times that the rest of the water was obscured. They seemed like great glasses, but be sure to buy a different color than I did. Smith was very good on the return so no complaints with the company, only with the lenses. The glasses were unusable.”

“Spending nearly $300 for me is a big deal. I searched and researched the web using Google and YouTube before I came across these Smith Guide’s Choice Glass Chromapop Polarchromic sunglasses. Once I came across them, I compared them to some of the other big brands out there and decided to pull the trigger on these with the yellow blue mirror.
UPS delayed my package by 2 days which of course is out of Smith Optics control. When they finally arrived, I eagerly opened the box and nervously put them on my face and WOW is all I could think and feel. I could really feel and more importantly SEE the quality in these sunglasses. They are pretty awesome I must say. I go fishing a lot and bought these as I thought the polarchromic would be awesome for days where the sun is in and out. With my old glasses I would find myself taking them off as the sun would get covered by clouds and put them on as needed.
Here are some of the things I would like to let people know about:
The glass version of these glasses is a little heavier than I am used to. I’m not saying they are heavy, just a little heavier than my plastic Oakly’s. This is, and was to be expected. Visually, looking through them is awesome. I love the yellow tint that they have, and colors do POP. More so than any other pair of sunglasses I have owned. They blow the doors off my Oakley’s (I was never impressed with the Oakley’s). They are comfortable and I don’t find myself ever taking them off while fishing, no matter what the sun or clouds are doing. That being said, these are polarchromic and they change or adapt to the lighting conditions. This is something that I honestly don’t notice. For instance, if I am walking out the door into the bright sun I can’t tell if they are changing or not, but they do, I just can’t see it. I know the tint does change as I tested them with a digital tint meter that I got off of Amazon.
I do find myself pushing them up on my nose here or there as they slide down a little and want to sit where I don’t necessarily want them to but that is probably more of an issue with my face and nose.
Overall, these are awesome and I am very happy with them! I would and do recommend them to anybody that will listen. I hope this helps you with your decision. I don’t think you will regret getting a pair of these.”
“Great sunglasses. . . not so sure about the lanyard. And great sunglasses don't work well on the bottom of the sea. If you drop the $ for these you may want to think twice about using the integrated lanyard provided with the glasses. I had the lanyard disconnect from one side the best I can tell as the glasses were around my neck and when I put back my sunroof they fell off into the water. Perhaps using cord tied to the holes in the temple will allow you to keep yours longer.”

“Best glasses and even better customer service/warranty. The Guides Choice and Hookset are for me the best glasses I've owned on and off the water everyday in all conditions. Their approach to standing behind their product is outstanding as I've come to find out. Customer for life!”
