The wrap around fit prohibits the sun glare from distorting your view when on the water or driving your car. The Smith warranty is exactly as written, i can attest to this because my stem broke at the hinge after four years of hard wear and Smith replaced them, that simple. “The glasses are top notch. Only suggestion would be to recommend or position a croakie (glasses holder strap). I purchased one off of the website after doing some research, but it did not fit. I had to go with a generic one instead of smith.”
