I have tried both, and the Hookset fit's better than the guides choice for smaller faces. Its nice that they make a glass for smaller faces, as a lot of smith's offerings trend larger than other brands. I still think they should make a Hookset S, like the guides choice S

I'm a huge fan of the Chromopop - the added Photochromic function takes the lens to the next level. Been wearing Guides Choice for years - thought I'd try this similar design. Nice super light frame that holds a slightly tighter curve vs. the Guides Choice

I’ve reached the tipping point with my new Smith Hookset sunglasses. After happy years with various Smiths, I needed a new pair and was happy to find the Hooksets, which looked good and the temples seemed to fit snuggly. In the store. But the first time I wore them, two weeks later when the sun came out, a major design flaw quickly became apparent. Instead of being one piece, the end half of the temples is comprised of two materials, one of which appears to be rubber, allowing them to easily flex. Yes, rubber. What at first seems to be a nice firm fit isn’t, and any head movement causes them to fall off. Even walking the temples flex outward, losing their grip, and want to slip off. They don’t have what my son called gription (he coined it) when he was little. I wouldn’t dare wear them while biking or skiing, which is when I would usually use them. Yesterday I simply tipped my head forward to tie my shoe and the glasses slipped right off onto concrete. Happily, the frame was chipped, not a lens. Then there is the included leash retainer, which is thin and stiff, reminding me of piano wire. True. Dubious, I tried it. It sticks out behind the neck and is so stiff that that my parka collar pushed the glasses off. I do have buyers remorse, but I doubt I can return and exchange these glasses, though I’ll try.

Very happy with the fit and quality of the Hookset however I noticed they have a tendancy to fog up much more than my other several Smith sunglasses I own.
