“Great lens's. firm stable fit, light on the face. I have been using these now for a few weeks and am very happy - they're everything I was looking for for riding and running. I also bought a pair of Vallon Watch Towers and sent them back as the Smiths were superior in every way for the purpose I required. Although I did buy a casual pair from Vallon that are awesome (had to say that lol).”
“I tried these glasses at a store with shaded lens installed and they looked good but when I changed to a clear lens at home they do look a bit dorky. I wish I bought darker frame, not ivory color. Unfortunately pics on the site don’t have photos with clear lens to see that in advance. Also, this frame worked best out of few models I tried with my bell helmet and in the end the fit was just not perfect still. I’d recommend to anyone to first try the glasses, with your helmet, at a retailer before buying anything online. Finally, the glasses have same issue as why I returned my wildcat model - in collapsed state, the temple arms touch lens at over time scratch the lens. So I’d recommend to put some piece of cloth to protect the lens from the temple arms scratches. In a way, I am not impressed with smith, taking into account the price.”

“I bought the Motives predominantly for running and cross country skiing. I was drawn to them because they have the full coverage of cycling/skiing glasses but have two lenses for people like myself who don’t have the confidence to wear single-lens glasses.
They stay in place exceptionally well. They don’t budge at all from the up and down jostling of running. They’re also good for people with larger heads. I was a bit concerned because sunglasses shown on female models often don’t fit men with large heads, but the Motive’s fit is wide enough to provide good peripheral coverage and the temples are plenty long. The nose piece may be a tad narrow if you have a wider bridge, though.
Considering this is my third pair of Smiths, I’d say I’m a huge fan of their lenses. The Chromapop lenses provide excellent contrast and my other pairs have proven very scratch-resistant, even in the hands of a toddler.
My only minor complaint is that I wish the nose piece was adjustable like on some of Smith’s other sport glasses. For running, I find they fit slightly too close to my face, which can transfer sweat from my eyebrows onto the lenses. It’s easily fixed by moving them slightly down the nose, but I wish I had the option to adjust the nose piece instead.
I have not had the opportunity to test them in cold weather for fogging and ventilation.
I hope they eventually make photochromic lenses for these. They would be great for trail running if the lenses transitioned.”
