“I love my Survey Helmet and everything about it. But not the lens! I need a clear lens because I have Transition Glasses. So my Glasses turn dark and I need a Clear Lens. The Replacement Clear Lens for Survey Helmets have been Out Of Stock since last year. I submitted my name to be contacted when it is in stock. Never happened last year. Trying agin this year. Great product if I could only get a clear lens!!!”
“This is a beautiful, sleek setup. Helmet fit is great. And it's true, the visor affords better peripheral vision than traditional goggles. That said, two issues that could break the deal: when it's snowy, the snow/ice comes into the visor and crusts it over. It's truly unusable in inclement weather, which you have to expect on nearly any day on the slopes. Other issue, the ear padding is so thick it's very difficult to hear conversation. I wanted some coverage for foul weather so ended up ripping out the padding while keeping the basic padding cover.”
“Winter inevitably comes. Along with it is the need to continue riding the bike. The classic summer bike helmet just doesn't work in the wintertime as it's just too full of holes for ventilation. Enter the Smith Survey Snow helmet. It has enough ventilation to keep the visor from fogging, but not enough to make your head cold. It has better protection than ANY bike helmet. It keeps your ears warm without blocking exterior sounds. The flip up visor allows you to lift it up when needed even if you wear glasses like I do. The bright white color provides good riding visibility. In short, it's the best winter bike helmet I have found so far. Thanks, SMITH”
“I bought the Smith Survey Mips to serve as a winter bicycle helmet as the bicycle industry apparently does not consider bicycling to be a winter activity. The Smith Survey serves very well for this purpose. The visor fits well over my glasses and lets just enough air in from the sides to keep both my glasses and the visor from fogging up. When it rains I close the air vents and I stay dry headed unless it's really pouring, but for the most part my head stays dry. Also when it's forty degrees outside the visor keeps my eyes from getting blasted with cold air that otherwise would obstruct my vision. The ear warmers work very well for bicycling but don't block the sounds of traffic at all. In short the Smith Survey is a great winter bike helmet.”
“I purchased this helmet in December of 2023 thinking the integrated googles would work well. The first time on the hill while it was snowing, snow entered in from the sides and completely filled up the inside of the goggle. This helmet with integrated google works great on blue bird days but when it's snowing out it's worthless.”
“I loved the way the helmet looked. But when skiing on a colder day, the goggles would always steam up, there was no seal around the eyes of course, so my face would also get a lot colder than with a regular helmet and goggles set up. I will be switching back for the next ski trip.”

“Lack of foam around the entire goggle allows snow and wind on the inside of the lens. Ice birds up from breath on cold days, snow builds up when it snows or in deep powder face shots. Would not recommend. Kayleb customer service representative was unhelpful in reminding the issue. I will not purchase smith products in the future.”
“Super excited to try out my new helmet, what a massive disappointment. Had a perfect fresh powder day at the Canyons in Park City, UT on 12/8. Headed up the mountain and immediately started to accumulate snow on the inside of the lens before even getting off the chairlift. It got worse as I skied down. Snow and Ice packed the inside of the lens to the point I couldn't see out. The only way to clear the lens was to take the helmet OFF mid run and try and scrap out the snow and ice. Awful design. Every run all day was the same result. If it's actively snowing or you have opportunity to ski fresh powder leave this helmet at home.”
