“This is a great helmet. It fits perfectly, it looks less dorky than most helmets, it ventilates better than the old design while being the safest helmet around. Plus I like the color combo. When I ride on the pavement I want to be visible and I like the high viz attributes of this helmet.”

“Really pleased with my Trace so far - I'm coming from a few years of wearing a Kask Protone.
I ordered the 'matte gravy' color since it was the closest to black (without ordering the black with ugly green vents). I was worried the matte gravy color would look brownish in person, but it's actually a really nice dark gunmetal gray/matte black combo. Gravy is a bit misleading for the color name.
This helmet also does a great job at keeping in the sweat, but releases it really easily with a press on the front of the helmet. My Kask didn't hold the sweat in and it would be dripping sweat all over my glasses during rides. So far I don't think I've had a drop come out while riding in the Trace, unless I press on the front and then it all pours out. Maybe this is intentional or maybe coincidental, but it's much appreciated in the heat while riding.
The strap is a little lackluster, I wish the locking/tightening mechanism were a little more substantial. I find myself having to work on tightening it more often than my Kask. It wouldn't keep me from buying another Trace helmet by any means, but just something I've noticed.
Overall I can see why this helmet is so well reviewed, it fits really, really well and stays put after I start riding. Like any good piece of kit I basically forget it's there after a while of riding.
I'm wearing Smith Wildcat glasses in combination with this helmet and they fit very well together as far as each other's shape goes. Some helmet/glass combos feel like they're working against each other, but the Trace/Wildcat combo goes together very nicely and my glasses stay put perfectly when flipped over and stuck in the front helmet vents on climbs, etc.
This is my first Trace helmet and definitely won't be my last, as overall it's a great helmet and well worth the price.”
