“I like the protection that the Session offers, but I have a few minor issues with the fit. One is that it seems like the Session is inordinately large - i suppose this is to house the protective layers, but it's a REALLY big shell. The other is that the helmet drops far enough in back that when riding aggressively forward with head tilted back, the rear of the adjuster is pushed up causing the helmet to rotate forward. This results in the bill of helmet dropping down and obscuring some of the vision.
While I'm at it, another pet peeve with this and some of the Smith ski helmets I have is that the adjuster in back is set in such a position that any high-collar jackets can contact the adjusting dial and change the adjustment when you turn your head. Not critical, but annoying.”
“I purchased a Session helmet only to have the finish begin to delaminate almost immediately. The helmet is a great product, but the finish quality is sub-par. To Smith's credit, they stood behind their product and enabled a replacement (I had to cover shipping and taxes). I would recommend this product assuming they overcome the paint delamination (which does not effect performance, but at this price, it should hold up).”
“I appreciate the breathability and ruggedness of this MIPs helmet. I would be inclined to buy the same helmet again for the quality at this price point.”

“Comfortable, secure straps and dial fit. Good ventilation, and the visor is perfect for keeping the sun out, but not getting in the way. It feels heavier than my road helmets, but is also more rugged. Strangely, it makes a creaking noise as it shifts and floats ever so slightly from the MIPS system -- not sure if that's normal, as this is my first MIPS helmet.”
