“I've used it on 2 rides, 1 enduro race so far. I'm on the upper end of head size for medium, using the thinner fit-pads. I wear medium in other Smith helmets, so went with medium with the Mainline as well. Feel a few pressure points when I first put it on each time, but then it seems to settle in and doesn't give me issues with 3-4 hour rides/races.
Goggles (Squad XL) can be lifted and placed under the visor and feel stable there. However, I pulled goggles off and hung them on handlebar for longer transfer section climbs because the goggles block ventilation. The ventilation blocking effect is noticeable to me if goggles are up/under the visor. I think it's from goggle blocking the intake ports and the strap blocking the exhaust port in back. I was happy with the ventilation with goggles completely off the helmet.
The double D ring closure will feel familiar to anyone who rides motorcycles. It's a good time-tested system. But, for me, it does require removing your gloves to fasten/unfasten.
I prefer to use water bottles instead of hydration pack with tube. The chin bar opening at the front does allow for drinking from bottle with helmet on, with some degree of finesse. I use specialized Watergate bottle lids, which have the heart valve squeeze system. This is key because I can tip my head back and squeeze the bottle through the chin bar hole into my mouth. I can only do this successfully when stopped, but it is possible without removing helmet. Hydration can make or break a big day on trail, so this is actually an important factor for me.”

“Excellent product, true to fit. I have two minor complaints. I wear beats wireless headphones and I am unable to fit them under this helmet. The second minor issue is that the mips system squeaks.
All in all, great product!”

“Light and airy. The helmet feels close enough to an open face for me to wear it all the time.
The style is pretty generic, but I bought because reviews said this was the best and I have no reason to believe otherwise.”

“Comes with 3 sets of pads that are different sizes. Let’s you got the helmet to your face.
The pads are also removable so you can take them out and wash them which is really nice.
My only wish is that the white helmet was matte instead of a gloss finish. But I’m very happy with it anyways.
I’ve had a full on over the bars crash. Got a concussion but no other injuries to my head or face.”

“I just got this helmet after sustaining a concussion after a crash while wearing my half shell. I fell on my right side and hit that side of my head where my half shell did not cover. I knew it was time for an upgrade to a full face, because as an adult in my mid 30s I can't afford taking time off for head injuries.
I am using this helmet for technical xc riding with some Enduro and light downhill mixed in, here in the northeast where the trees are tight and obstacles are numerous.
I just wore this on a 91 degree, hot and super humid day- I fully expected the helmet to be hot and bother me, but I had no such issues... Even on the long uphill climbs. My vision is unimpeded and I felt confident hitting my lines knowing that my face is now more protected. My squad mtb goggles integrate well with this helmet and are even getting more airflow to boot.
The fit is perfect - snug but not tight, and it stays in place without any rattling while going downhill at speed or hitting jumps. I'm really pleased with it so far.
For reference I am a smaller framed lady shredder at 5'3" and 110lbs with a 57cm head. The medium fit perfectly after swapping out the padding for the larger set. I also love the color (Lago garay) and the helmet bag included is a nice addition.
Overall I'd recommend for any rider who wants more face/head protection than a half shell offers without sacrificing performance, vision or breathability for xc, enduro or tamer downhill rides.”

“Excellent quality helmet that gets compliments wherever I go. It does everything you want a helmet to do, including disappear while wearing it (high praise for a full face helmet). If I could improve a couple of things: ability to wear headphones or more space for them with the helmet on and the liner can be noisy. Neither of things are enough to not recommended this excellent helmet. Would buy again.”
