“The helmet is light and allows for full vision while riding. With the stock medium cheek pads the helmet began slipping after 5 rides or so, but replaced with the thicker the cheek pads that were provided when purchased, and now there is no slipping. Hopefully the larger cheek pads will not materially pack out, too early to tell.
The helmet is so far well ventilated, but the real test will happen in summer.

“I’m usually right between helmet companies’ medium and large sizes so I often end up with a helmet that ends up too tight, or way too big. Decided to order the larger size Smith even though my dome was barely big enough to fit in their size guide. Helmet fits great! It doesn’t look like a gigantic oversized melon, and you could tell it would work for larger heads too. Little noisy when you swivel your head once it breaks in (the mips business) but nothing severe.”

“The venting is incredible on climbs. Right out of the box I went the smallest cheek pads and it fit perfect. My Squad MTB goggles were made for it, so breathing is natural. And it’s over 300g lighter than my other full face. I can hit up my hydration pack while I ride...I haven’t crash tested it yet but, so far, it’s worth every pricey penny.”
“Bought this specific helmet because I saw it as better quality than the ixs also because it fits seamlessly with my squad goggles.. It has great ventilation and weighs next to nothing compared to my old full face giro switchblade, there is plenty of room to shove a snack bar through the chin bar and the helmet sizing is spot on, there fore it doesn’t shake on my head when riding.. only con is I wish they would switch to a magnetic chin strap for easy use.. all in all still a great helmet and I’m happy with my purchase”
