“During my trial run, it sat too low in front, causing the helmet to put pressure on my glasses which of course put pressure on my nose. However Smith’s terrific customer service (Terrific!) explained how to adjust the soft head cage in the back so the helmet would sit up higher in the front. That did the trick!
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the chin strap didn’t adjust easily. Or I should say, not as easily as the Trace Mips Gravel which I also just bought. I can adjust the tension on the Trace Mips on the fly but not the Forefront 3. (However once you get it set, how many times would you really need to adjust it while you’re in the saddle? Ok. 5 stars. )”

“The helmet is a great fit, super comfy. But the visor tabs broke causing the visor to be very flimsy, and won’t stay in place. This is very disappointing as I just got the helmet in July.”
“This helmet was a warranty replacement because the padding for the back of the helmet started to peel off after only 3 months.
Doesn't matter how tight I have to his helmet it always creeps down my forehead pushing my smith glasses down. My forefront 2 is a much better fit. The ventilation is solid but if you have no hair. . plan to have a skid mark on the top of your head by the end of the season.
Smith helmets are typically great and customer service is always fantastic. I think this helmet is a miss though.”
“My POC was getting uncomfortable and the Radavist wrote an amazing review on this helmet. I picked this one up and it is super comfortable. Comically we had picked up a forefront 2 a couple of months ago for my daughter at sierra trading post for $90. So I had something to compare it to. It fits me, I have a more round/oblong head, size 59, and the L is perfect. Gives me enough room for a skull cap in the winter. The bands of the boa aren’t anywhere near my ears. The boa does feel excessive, not sure why it is needed. It doesn’t provide structure so the rear of the helmet where it sits falls into the helmet when it sits. The visor is awesome since you can adjust it up and down when needed. Protection looks good. For the price, as others have stated, it should have come with a fidlock snap. The price is excessive for this helmet. Daughters helmet is orange/blue.”
“I recently bought this helmet to replace a convertible mtb helmet (removable chin bar). I immediately saved 1/2 lb and the comfort is excellent. The protection level gives me high confidence on my rides as well.”
