“It is easily the most comfortable helmet I have worn. The BOA integration is perfect. I have a small head, but I don't find myself wrenching down to get a good fit, and there are no pinch points.”
“Great helmet, great fit. Missing two features to be great: Needs a fidlock buckle. Also, needs to have full Koroyd instead of the totally open middle channel. Even with 50 SPF mineral sunscreen I get to deal with a Mohawk tan line. Have a little mercy on the bald folks, Smith.”
“I've ridden every iteration of the forefront since it was originally released, and I have to say this one is my least favorite concerning the fit and fit system. While the fit is comfy for the most part, but you have to crank the heck out of the fit system to have it not come down on your eyes/forehead when descending (I've tried it in all of the positions it offers, which is less than what previous iterations offered). It also seems to conflict with non-Smith sunglasses quite a bit, which is a bit annoying. I personally hope they go away from the current fit system, and go back to the tried and true fit of old with the better ventilation the new one has.”
“Looking at purchasing a Forefront 3 helmet. Does the Forefront 3 come with a light mount? The light mount sold separately indicates it is only for a Forefront 2 and will not fit the 3.”

“Just had a nasty crash on the snotch in Moab landing head first. Helmet was amazing. landed on rock and no ringing or any issues to my head. Broken collarbone however. WILL be purchasing this helmet again. Thank you guys for keeping me safe!”
“I’ve had 4x different Smith helmets for my family now, and all have the same fatal flaw: the liner pads disintegrate in 3 months or less, regardless of how you care for them.
And Smith seemingly never has replacement liners available.
Most recently, I’ve been looking weekly for the last year for replacement pads for the Forefront 2.
I recently took a fall with it, and now need a replacement helmet.
The Forefront 3 looks great, however until Smith start supporting their products after purchase, I will be looking at other brands.
A helmet is worthless without proper liner pads.”
“I like the look and fit of the helmet but I am not happy with the boa adjuster - they just use a string and it feels like it won't last long and your hair gets very caught in it.”
