“Having gone through various models of Oakleys and many previous iterations/models of Smiths, I had very high expectations and it definitely exceeded them.
I have a larger head (7 5/8 in fitted hat size) and this mated up perfectly with my Smith Vantage helmet (size L) and face. The field of view with the XL was fantastic, hardly noticed that they were there.
And the Mag lens changing system (my first set of goggles w/ this feature) is such a step above all previous lens changing solutions I've used. No more raw fingers from trying to jam lens tabs into goggle frames (and getting frustrated because it's not perfectly lined up), and is still even easier than the previous I/O (non-mag) models. Honestly, I thought it would be a gimmick but it really makes life a lot easier.
The other nice thing is that the XL model has an extra long strap to accommodate the big domed helmets as well. I usually have to expand the strap all the way when fitting over helmets, but this strap still has plenty of room left over so I can play around with tension and fit of the frame to my face.
As w/ all Smith goggles, the lenses are fantastic, especially with ChromaPop (all my sunglasses are now ChromaPop required, hard to go back).
A++++++ will do business with again.”
“Having a lot of issues with the seal against my face, it seems to leak no matter what position I put the goggles in.
Also doesn’t seem like the glue is cured, every time I’m in the sun it has a really strong super glue like smell coming from them which has been going away over time.”
“Good goggles against sun and eye view. The removable lense can only be done with a glove off and you have to check if every side is snapped in when putting lense back on. This defeats the purpose of a quick detach. Can not fully recommend lense to friends until the quick release is easier to do for anyone with no glove”
“Works perfectly. I'm happy I made the upgrade from my old I/OX. These goggles make you forget that you're wearing googles and gives an added edge to see contours at speed. Essential for any day in the mountains.”
