“The Smith integrated leash is very functional, and is one of the primary reasons I purchased the Smith Guide Choice sunglasses. The comfort of the leash being integrated is outstanding vs. having a slip on retainer over the ear pieces. Being a fisherman and needing retention as well as comfort - this was a key consideration. Unfortunately the durability wasn't as expected. The leash broke for seemingly no reason prior to two years of use. I recently purchased a new leash (and was very happy to see consumers can purchase a replacement. The $10 price point for the leash was fine, however my disappointment was the shipping cost which was an additional $10. No reason on earth a 2 Oz. item should cost that to ship. This is probably due to the extraneous packaging (cardboard) which is not necessary. It would be cheaper for Smith and the consumer to simply package in an envelope, and also better for the environment. Bottom line, it's a decent product, but could be more durable and costs too much to ship.”
